The Climate, Soil, Varieties of Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) production described below:
Climate: Jackfruit can be grown under many climatic conditions and can even tolerate cold/ freezing. Ideally it
should be grown under warm and moist conditions and as such can be found throughout Bangladesh
Soil: Jackfruit can  be grown on a variety of soils provided there is good drainage. It is not tolerant of water logging.
Varieties: Jackfruit has no distinct varieties. It is extensively grown from seeds which are not true to  type as separate varieties. In general , jackfruits are divided into two groups: soft flesh and firm flesh. Depending on the size taste, appearance of the fruit, and bearing habit, jackfruits are given different varietal names. For example: Hazari, Baromashi and Rudrakhi.
